TROOP 14 TRAIL BLAZER January, 2008This newsletter is coming to your home so that you can “Be Prepared.”
OUR WISH: is that everyone will have wonderful holidays, enjoy your family and friends and be ready to get back to school and scouts on January 7, 2008. Hope the winter campers have a great time, looking forward to receiving those blue cards!! THANKS: Thanks to the PLC leaders that participated in the Discovery Night Meal at the church, December 5th you guys did a great job. COURT OF HONOR: Thanks to all the scouts and families that participated in December’s Court of Honor. It was a nice evening spent with wonderful people. Thanks to the Stubbs family for their invaluable help in setting up. PLC: Patrol Leaders Council meeting is Tuesday January 8th at 7PM. All new and old junior leaders need to attend this meeting. Adult leaders meet immediately after PLC. Meeting will be in Room 309, west wing of the new church area. ROUND TABLE/ORDER OF THE ARROW: Meeting January 3rd at 7:15 p.m at the Church of Latter Day Saints in Venice. Take the Jacaranda Blvd. exit, head south, turn left at the second light, Venice Ave. approx. 1 mile on the left. This is a great time for the adults to get information from council and network!!! TRAINING: New and old leaders please go online for your Boy Scout Fast Start, Troop Committee Challenge, Youth Protection, Safe Swim and Safety Afloat training. www.swflcouncilbsa.org Everyone needs to have these trainings. New Leader Essentials training January 19th at Keiser College, go online for enrollment form. TROOP CAMPOUT: This month will be District Camporee at Camp Flying Eagle Friday 1/25 through Sunday 1/27. Lots of exciting competitions for gateways and games, be ready to compete and work as a team. MUST HAVE FIREM N CHIT & TOTEN CHIT on your person. The cost is $30.00 per person, need to have January 7th FUNDRAISING: Pizza forms go home on January 7th and are due back January 21st , remember this is a good way to earn money for summer camp. Philmont Fundraiser Car Wash, January 5th at the T & T Shell on Palmer 9 a.m to 3 p.m., so go get your car washed and show your support. MERIT BADGES & SERVICE HOURS: MUST be approved by the scoutmaster prior to your starting. Service Hours, Camp Flying Eagle is looking for a few good men to help with camp improvements, especially since we are hosting the Order of the Arrow Section Conference. RECHARTER: Recharter money is due no later than January 21st , the fee is $ 22.00, this is for a new year of registration and Boy’s Life. ___________________________________________________________________________________ JANUARY EVENTS UPCOMING: FEBRUARY EVENTS3: Roundtable/OA Meeting 3-10: Singing River Rendezvous
